Hello HAC families:

Congrats on a great meet weekend at both McMaster (and novice meet at Brantford), where awesome swims were had by many and good times were had by most!

I want to thank everyone that came out to volunteer and train as officials at the meet, as this is nearly as important as the swimming that our kids do.  WIthout your time and effort to take part and learn new roles to support these home meets, we would not be able to hold meets for the kids to achieve great things and these meets also assist greatly in the reduction of swim fees for our members.  Kudos to everyone who got evaluated successfully and signed off on their officials cards, and thank you again for all your efforts.

A second reminder that at these meets there is a lot of "gear" (shirts, caps, goggles, equipment, etc.) that can go missing or get picked up (innocently) by other HAC members as they scramble to leave at the end of their swim session.  Be sure to take any HAC gear with you at the end of day and when you get home to hang it all up to dry, be sure to CHECK that this gear is all yours - if not, advise on FB or bring to next swim practice so the coaching staff can sort it out and return it to the rightful owner.  Listed below is a few "gear" items that were lost or claimed to be returned to HAC swimmers.

Lost or misplaced HAC "gear":

Justin Tiffany misplaced his swim cap with his initials "JT" on the sides.  If you have it, please return to your coach.

I (Coach Lisa) have a 'dryfit' Youth M yellow HAC T-shirt that was left on the deck, if anyone is looking for it, I can divert to proper coach.

Remember: LABEL ALL YOUR GEAR as it is much easier to return things to people when it is easy to identify to whom it belongs!

Steeltown Meet: A great success!

A very big thank you for your attendance and assistance volunteering as an official at this past weekend's Steeltown 2016 swim meet.  We hope everyone had a great time learning new officiating skills and meeting new HAC members. The kids had some great swims and we had some new qualifiers.

My thanks to all who came out to assist in making this meet a success; our meets assist in keeping fees low and allow kids to have great meet experiences close to home.  Without the assistance of officials we cannot continue to run great home meets that attract sufficient outside revenue and competition for the swimmers.  I thank you for your support.

Lisa Hodge

PS We will be making a link on the Swim Meets page shortly for signing up to volunteer at the next sim meet in January (Malar); be sure to specify what group your child swims in and what skills/courses you have for determining best fit.
