Congratulations to Michael Forrester who was the winner of our Swim-A-Thon draw prize of $500 off next season's swim fees. Thank you to everyone that participated. With only 2 days left to our annual SWIM-A-THON, we are already at 93.95% towards our goal...our swimmers have raised an amazing $9, 395! In addition to our fundraising goal, many #HAC swimmers have set personal lap goals. While many NOVICE swimmers may set first time goals of 50-100 laps, more experienced and advanced swimmers have goals of 100-200 laps or more...all before most kids have woken up for the day. The fun starts at 7 am on Saturday, March 25th with a breakfast to follow. We will be able to update some of our meet equipment and help enhance the community pools that we use with the funds raised. Thank you to all those who have registered so far and to those swimmers who have already collected record breaking donations. You can see our awesome top fundraisers so far - such amazing efforts!
Wow! What a difference a week makes...In one we week, we have gone from raising just under $4000 to over $6700. We are at 67.4% of our $10 000 goal. #HAC swimmers are a dedicated bunch. They will be in the pool next Saturday (March 25th) at 7 AM to start their laps. With the fantastic efforts of our swimmers and their families, we will be able to update some of our meet equipment and help enhance the community pools that we use as well. Thank you to all the swimmers who have registered so far and to those swimmers who have already started getting donations. You can see our awesome top fundraisers so far. On behalf of the HAC board and coaching staff, we are excited to announce our annual Swim-A-Thon campaign for this year.
Once again, our club will be fundraising using Swim Canada’s online fundraising process. This allows us to raise money quickly and easily from just a few clicks on any device. This year, our goal is to raise $10,000! Funds raised will be directed towards dive blocks at Hill Park in addition to replacing timing and starting equipment for meets. With your help, we know we can achieve our goal.
Our Swim-A-Thon will involve all swimmers and it will be held on Saturday, March 25th, 2017 (7am – 9am) at the McMaster University Pool. We encourage parents to go online and assist your swimmer with the registration. The family affidavit is part of the online swimmer registration. Swimming Canada has rules around eligibility for receipts. Under no circumstance is a Parent/Legal Guardian or Parent’s company eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
Please go to our club link www.ontarioswimathon.ca/hac to register your swimmer and start spreading the word to those that support the sport of swimming in our community, province and Canada.
This will also be a volunteer opportunity for parent and guardians. We need lap counters for swimmers. As well, we need a few volunteers to help prepare food for a breakfast for all those hungry swimmers. Please email email@example.com to volunteer for the positions.
Please show your support, help us provide the best resources, coaching and programs that we can by helping to raise these valuable dollars that will support our swimming program.
If you have any questions please contact your Swim-A-Thon coordinator, Karen Wilson, at firstname.lastname@example.org .
